We were interviewed and featured in the well-known trade publication, Sourcing Journal.
We discussed issues around the rising energy costs and the impact that it is having on the current manufacturing sector in Leicester.
Some brands have been cancelling orders as a result of the current economic down-turn, and we advocated the need for more input from the brands to help with keeping businesses afloat through such measures as reshoring some of their overseas production and a closer working relationship. This is neccesary in the short term for the survival of the factories, and if past experience is anything to go by, the reccession generally increases the need for local production which will be of benefit to the brands at a later date.
